Aftersell Earn & Save: how the bill discount works

Check Aftersell Earn & Save eligibility, the matching bill discount, payout timing and the trade-offs of offers after checkout.

Aftersell’s Earn & Save programme gives eligible Shopify merchants two benefits from Rokt Thanks: earnings from customer engagement with other brands’ offers, and a separate discount on their Aftersell bill. The practical question before Black Friday is whether that additional income fits the experience you want after a purchase.

Aftersell highlighted the offer in its 29 September product post and its BFCM Lab page. This is a guide to the current programme, not a claim that it launched today.

Keep the payout and discount separate

The programme page says Rokt pays merchants their earnings in full. Aftersell separately matches the previous 30 days’ earnings with a discount, capped at the bill amount. If the earnings fall short, the merchant still owes the remainder.

For an illustrative $200 bill and $80 in qualifying earnings, that means a $120 Aftersell charge plus a separate $80 payout. With $300 in earnings, the discount would cap at $200 while the $300 remains payable to the merchant. These are arithmetic examples, not earnings forecasts or quoted plan prices.

Check eligibility and cash timing

Aftersell’s current documentation sets a threshold of 1,000 monthly orders. The programme is optional and sits on the existing plan; its features, base price and maximum charge remain unchanged.

Enrollment requires Rokt Thanks to be enabled and an app block placed on a customer page. Some stores also receive updated terms to review. Payout setup is separate. The documentation describes payment approximately 90 days after the month in which earnings were generated, so a bill discount and cash arriving in your account are different events.

In Aftersell’s Settings → Billing, check the earning window behind the discount. If you disable or remove Rokt Thanks, the documentation says the discount stops on the next cycle.

Decide what belongs after the purchase

Rokt Thanks displays offers from other brands after checkout. Aftersell says merchants can block advertisers, competitors and categories. Its official product image below illustrates brand controls; the pictured advertisers are examples, not a promise of the offers your customers will see.

Our recommendation is to review the page as a customer before enabling a new commercial message. Keep the receipt, delivery information and support route easy to find. Decide whether another brand’s offer competes with your own loyalty invitation or next purchase prompt.

Agree a baseline and review period before testing. Compare actual earnings and discounts with changes in your own upsell revenue and customer questions. A lower software bill is useful, but it does not establish that every placement improves the overall customer relationship.

Aftersell’s published earnings ranges and calculator are vendor projections, not a guaranteed return for your store. Budget from observed results and keep the normal subscription cost in your forecast until the discount is established.

ℹ️
A zero bill is conditional. The matching discount cannot exceed the Aftersell bill and depends on actual Rokt Thanks earnings. The payout remains separate.
