The small print

Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and who else is involved. Short, because there is not much of it.

Last updated 1 October 2026.

This policy covers thefoundersinn.cool and The Founder's Inn newsletter (“we”, “us”). We run a free newsletter and a news site. We do not sell personal data, and we collect as little as the service needs.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter. Nothing else is required to sign up.
  • What you send us, when you use the contact form: your name, email address and message.
  • Ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, the pages requested and when. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not combined with your email address.

We do not run advertising trackers or sell audience data.

How we use it

  • To send you the Friday newsletter you asked for, and nothing you did not.
  • To reply to messages you send us.
  • To see which issues and articles get read, so we can write better ones.
  • To keep the site and the sign-up form free of bots and abuse.

Who else handles it

A few services do the heavy lifting. Each only receives what its job needs.

  • Kit (kit.com) stores the subscriber list and sends the newsletter. Kit records opens and link clicks in the emails it sends.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a sign-up or contact form submission comes from a person rather than a script.
  • Helpdesky (helpdesky.io) receives contact form messages and holds the conversation so we can reply.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this site; your browser requests them directly from Google.
  • Embedded content: some articles embed posts or videos from X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or YouTube. Those load from the provider and are governed by its own privacy policy, as if you had visited it directly.

Cookies

The site itself does not set tracking cookies. Third parties listed above (Turnstile, Helpdesky, embedded media) may set their own cookies when their widgets load.

How long we keep it

Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe, which you can do with the link at the bottom of any issue, after which it is removed from the active list. Contact form messages are kept for as long as the conversation is useful, then deleted. Server logs are rotated automatically.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the rights set out in the GDPR, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. Use the contact page and we will sort it out.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the newsletter and update the date at the top of this page.
