Shop Campaigns reporting: what ShopifyQL adds

Bring campaign results into reporting tools, understand the October country fields and reconcile totals before comparing acquisition channels.

Shop Campaigns results can be brought into reporting tools alongside your other store data. Shopify’s 10 August 2026 release made campaign performance available through ShopifyQL; its 1 October update added country breakdowns and campaign dimensions for sales.

For merchants, the useful next step is a reporting brief for your analyst or analytics provider. The extra data can explain how a campaign performed, but it does not remove the need to check what each number measures.

Start with the campaign in admin

Shopify’s management guide directs merchants to Sales channels → Shop → Advertising. Select a campaign and date range, then use the available country and customer-segment filters. This is a useful reference when checking an external dashboard.

The same guide says campaign data can be accessed through compatible analytics apps, CSV exports and business-intelligence tools connected to the Admin GraphQL API. Ask your provider whether it supports these specific campaign fields; a general Shopify connection is not evidence that its interface already exposes them.

What the releases make available

The August announcement lists spend, sales, orders, return on ad spend, average order value and average acquisition cost, with campaign and segment breakdowns. Time dimensions use the shop’s timezone. Authorised reporting apps use the existing ShopifyQL query capability with report-reading access.

The October API version adds campaign order counts and billing-country dimensions. It also lets sales reports group results by campaign name, handle, target segment or campaign currency code. Orders without an associated Shop Campaign form a separate null group when those dimensions are used. Requests using July 2026 or earlier versions do not include the new fields.

ℹ️
Country means billing country here. Do not label the October campaign country fields as shipping destination or infer delivery demand from them.

Give the dashboard a reconciliation checklist

Our suggested brief is to start with one campaign and a fixed date range. Record the timezone, currency, country filter and customer segment beside the report. Compare the result with the campaign view before combining it with other acquisition channels.

Keep the unassociated-order group visible during reconciliation. Ask the provider to label billing country clearly, rather than presenting it as delivery destination. If totals differ, check the field definitions and filters before assuming the integration is broken.

For comparisons with other channels, document the attribution model too. Shopify’s marketing reporting guidance distinguishes channel and campaign reports and provides different attribution views. Putting two numbers beside one another does not make their credit-allocation rules identical.

Finally, use the dashboard to identify questions for investigation: which segment changed, which dates account for a difference, or whether the same pattern appears in the underlying orders. A reported return on ad spend is not a controlled measurement of sales that would otherwise never have happened.
